We currently have an Audix small (R1V8) in use at our corporate headquarters. After many years of faithful service, it is starting to develop problems. Most recently two of the cooling fans on the rear of the unit died. When the service tech was out working on it, he mentioned that his company could upgrade us to an Audix 3.2. Another vendor has suggested an Intuity Audix, and I have seen the Definity Audix. We currently are configured with 16 ports for about 600 users, and have three 380MB (?) hard drives in the system plus the RCD. I expect that if anything, we will be growing over the next year or two. My question - which system does this forum's experts prefer, and why?

Thanks in advance -

Personally, I like the Intuity because you can have all the multimedia stuff like, integration to Outlook, Message Manager and Faxmail with the Intuity which I don't think you can have with the Definity Audix. But of course, there is a price difference as well.
Just my .2c.

Right now if getting a DEFINITY AUDIX you should go for a R4 system (the latest release) the problem here is that has a max of 12 ports.
Message Manager comes with the DEFINITY AUDIX, but you can't receive or send faxes, and you can't set up your email client to get your voice mail messages (like you can with Intuity AUDIX)

Intuity AUDIX has some text to speech stuff too in US english.

Based on the ports, # of subscribers and possible growth I would suggest a Intuity AUDIX, MAP5 would work but I would suggest MAP40.

We use a map 5 intuity here and it has been sufficient so far. We have a total of 18 ports and were considering upgrading to the map 20 due to just about maxing out the ports. We currently have 6 voice T coming into our call center and so far it is doing the job ok. When we bump it up a few more Ts we will have to see how it handles the incoming call increase--currently we are doing 3300+ calls a day inbound routed through our Intuity. The only problem I have is when a manager sends a mass voicemail out to the entire company- it takes all the ports to connect to the mailboxes then everybody trys to get into audix at the same time. (If any one knows how to limit the number of ports used for voicemail give me a heads up)

I think I heard from the grape vine that avaya is/has come out with something new for the voice mail system. Intuity Audix Velocity MAP40P Upgrade 600X18 R4-R5.1.This configuration provides an upgrade from your existing Intuity MAP5 R4 to the Intuity Velocity MAP40 R5. This configuration provides 18-Voice Ports and 600-User Mailboxes. Project Investment $23,800.00
