Intranet site and public site on same box 1

Hello,

IIS newbie. I need some basic help. I curently have an intranet site setup this one server. In the future I need to setup a public site if possible on the same server. Can this be done? Another question is the name. Can this 2nd website have a different name than the actual server name?

yes.
you can use hostheaders and set the alias up on your internal DNS server also set the private (intranet) site only to respond to the internal IP.
