Can someone help me understand how to make it so that if I save an Internet Explorer site shortcut on my desktop while viewing a website in regular maximized view, if will reopen in that size later when I click the icon?
For some reason that I don't understand, any site shortcut that I save to the desktop via File > Send > Shortcut to Desktop, will reopen in some half size window that must have been stored at some point in the past when I sized a window to fit a certain site that I was viewing.
I use Windows XP service pack 3.

To resize an open window.

To change the width, point to the left or right window border. When the pointer changes into a horizontal double-headed arrow , drag the border to the right or left.
To change the height, point to the top or bottom window border. When the pointer changes into a vertical double-headed arrow , drag the border up or down.
To change the height and width at the same time, point to any window corner. When the pointer changes into a diagonal double-headed arrow , drag the border in any direction.

Next time you open the new window, hopefully it will open to the size you resized it to (perhaps).

Sorry but I've done all that and just tried it again. That is the big mystery. If I change the size view to be bigger and close it, it reopens in that old small size. Even if I delete all of the website icons on my desktop and then create a new on by clicking File > Send > Shortcut to Desktop, that new site will open in that small size that I once had another site at.
IE or Windows must be storing this info somewhere.

Cool. I fixed it. I just ran my cCleaner and on the main tab under Advanced I checked Windows Size/Location Cache and ran the cleaner. It is fixed now.
I'll bet that any other sites that open in specially sized windows will now open in full windows, but I can fix those!

Thanks for that feedback. Apart from the tab in Ccleaner are you able to supply the exact location of this "Windows Size/Location Cache"?

It would be handy to know. Was it, I wonder, these Keys?

1:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU]

2:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags]
