In Outlook, we have both an external email account (in Personal folders) and a mailbox (the Exchange account). We seem to have a problem in that the messages sent through the internet account are either delayed or undeliverable. Are there any thoughts on how to keep messages from being delayed (or why they are being delayed in the first place)?

Thanks for any help.

It could be that the ISP that hosts your internet mail account isn't allowing connections from your network to their mail server, or perhaps you changed some DNS configurations in your network and your clients no longer know how to access the mail server's site. Lastly, if you are using ISA server or Proxy server, you may have trouble getting your clients to make outbound SMTP sessions to the external mailserver. This requires WinSock connections to be allowed.

Hope this gives you some new areas to investigate.

Thanks for the tip. Could you explain what would be needed for the Winsock connections?
