Hi, wonder if anyone can help. I am helping out a friend set up his new ADSL
line at his company. Last night I swapped it from the dial up they were
using and installed the router, all net access etc is working perfectly.
However I can't get Exchange 5.5 Server to pick up mail. Mail seems to go
out ok (I changed the setting from dial up to permanent connection)

In Internet Mail Service it seems to want a dial up connection to create a
schedule, is there any way round this?

I am afraid I haven't configured any exchange servers yet so please be
gentle!

Hi,
If you go into Microsoft Exchange Administrator and connect to your exchange server it will bring the options available, if you find a section called "Connections" and opent the properties for this (double click on opion in the right hand side window) check that it does not have any dial-up connections ticked, if so remove them, also on the connections tab chack that it is configured for "inbound and outbound" (should be a radio button near the top of the page!)

hope this helps!

You may also need to contact your ISP to tell them the IP of your exchange box so they can forward all your e-mail to that IP. If you are configured this way and if you are just coming off of dial-up then I assume you are.
