Internet mail service cannot start

Dear all,

After I reboot the mail server, the mail service have no run. I go to control panel - services - Exchange Internet Mail Services , it was not start, then I restart it but Dr. Watson come out and error occur. Now my mail server out of service . Anyone can help me ?

NT 4 Server
Exchange 5.5 with sp4

any event log messages? Are your other exchange services running? Any DNS problems?
 
This is a stab in the dark but, it has happened to me before:

Check your event viewer. When available disk space falls below 10 megs the IMS will shut down and not restart until you free up space.

Regardless, check the event viewer! There should be info there that will help you diagnose the problem.
 
I have had this happen several times.
I have found out that if I unitstalled the IMS and Rebooted and reinstalled the IMS it usually will fix the problem. But I would definitely check the disk space first.
Are you running this behind any sort of proxy server?
If so try checking the WSPC.ini file. One or both of these files could be corrupted you may need to reload them.
These are just shots in the dark because I have been through this beofre.
Also check the IP addresses.

That's ok. I remove IMS and reboot, than reinstall IMS again. The services start and my mail server run normal.
