Hello

Here is my issue. Not even 5 minutes into me being online, internet explorer kicks me off. I have a compaq 7360 computer with IE Version 5. I get an error message saying " internet explorer caused a problem and will now close ". So i log back online and a few minutes within being there, it kicks me back off again with the same message. I installed a newer verion of IE Version 6.1 and still have the same propblem. I did a quick restore to fix any errors the computer may have had ,still nothing. I was told to go to "add remove programs" and find internet explorer and click it. It askes to remove. What do i do after that? Any solutions to fixing IE?

Thanks

Is IE the only program that has problems? Have you added any third-party toolbars or browser extensions? A good place to start is with a couple of thorough antivirus & spyware scans.

another option is to try the repair of internet explorer that w98 has built into add/remove prog. Highlight internet explorer and select the repair tab at the top of the page

also do a detect and repair of outlook/outlook express. they are tied to IE.

make sure that you have windows up to date or install updates.

i have seen this issue be caused by that lot's of times

good luck.
