Internet Explorer not showing popup links

Having problems on a Windows XP machine, which randomly stopped displaying popup links in IE. I have tried re-installing IE, running adaware (even though it is a brand new PC), and resetting all the settings, but still no luck. It just makes a blank pop up appear when you click the link. This problem is happening on all sites, and is not occuring on other PCs.

Anyone got any ideas?

Have you installed SP2?

Not yet, as we are still in the stages of testing it. We have heard, and had a few problems with it so we are just being a bit cautions. But, surely, Internet Explorer should be able to work without SP2????

Yes, it does....the reason that I'm asking is because SP2 includes a pop-up blocker. Has a third party pop-up blocker been installed on that machine?

I did notice a Google pop up stopper, but I disabled the popup blocker. I am going to try and reinstall the Java VM on the machine as well. Any more suggestions?
