Internet Explorer in ME keeps freezing up???

Everytime I launch my internet explorer in ME from turning on my pc, it freezes up. I usually have to shut the program down using ctrl, alt and delete then launch it again. Is there a fix for this besides re-formating my hard drive?

HI
1. Check your modem configuration. If required reinstall.
2. Is your internet configured via modem ?. May be the internet connection is looking for a LAN connection and o keeps searching. Suggest delete the internet connection and reset that.

I have a DSL connection that is working just fine. If it's my internet connection, then why does it work perfectly the second time around I launch it after shutting it down the first time? It wasn't always like this. I didn't used to have this problem.
