I've got a few users who have a problem when opening Windows Explorer.

When they open it, they get the following message:

WINDOWS EXPLORER has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the computer. An error log is begin generated.

Then it boots them out. I can't figure out why this is happening all of a sudden. Two users are NT 4.0 OS, and Office 2000, and the other is Win2000 OS, and Office 2000. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

Oh, there are so many reasons this could happen. First, let us figure out if one of the scenarios is true.

Do you use IE6? (NO, I am not confused between IE and Windows Explorer). And have you installed any new apps recently?

If that's the case you may need to go back a version in IE.

Actually, yes it is IE6, in fact we had a problem with one of our Verizon apps yesterday. Verizon advised us to remove patch Q323172, which was downloaded from "Windows Update". Do you think it may be a security update issue?
Thanks, I appreciate your help
