Internet Explorer dead need ie6 full cd

I have a win 98 machine that can dial up provider, but internet explorer cannot find any web pages. Version 6 was on the machine and I tried to restore to older version, had same problem. The browser was provided and customized by AOL, but AOL is not the provider anymore. I cannot get to Microsoft with that machine, so tried with my XP and cannot download a "CD" to fix the other machine. How can I get a full download on the XP so I can put on CD and fix the Win 98?

Why not download a floppy-sized browser to the xp machine and then install it on your 98? Then at least you'll have a browser to get everything back.

Go to

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en.

Click on the Internet Explorer 6 link. Download ie6setup.exe. Put it on cd, run it on the other computer, connect to your isp, it should download everything to load the browser (might take awhile).
