I have two computers. Why does Internet Explorer 8 (64-bit) run without a glitch on the machine running Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) but on the one running Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) it asks me to load Adobe Flash everytime I start IE?

Does the ultimate have Flash installed? Sounds like it's trying to install on a non admin account.

Thank you Sympology. I should have explained that the error message from Ultimate appears on the Information Bar and is says that the Adobe Flash Player Installer is trying to install. I get it when logged in to a User Account with Administrator privledges, but not when logged in to the built-in Administrator account. But when I go back to the User Account, I get it again.

With further Google searches I found a notice on the Adobe website that Flash Player playback is not yet supported for a 64-bit browser, but it can be run on a 64-bit operating machine if using a 32-bit browser. That still does not explain why it works on the 64-bit computer, and Windows Home Premium (64-bit). Oh well.

Even though you are using a 64-bit machine the Default IE 8 should be the 32-bit version. That is the version that runs by default on 64-bit machines. If you use that version then the problems will vanish. As previously stated Adobe are still working on a version of Flash for 64-bit.
