I have an Exchange 5.5 and a Linux Send mail for Internet mail.
When sending mail from Outlook to the sendmail accounts it takes a while(2 hours or so) for the sendmail to recive the email. Lookit at the message header when it does arive it goes to the exchange server and sits their. Thier is no sign of the sendmail server. The recepiant is setup for the sendmail server only. I am assuming that the internet mail service on exchange is interfearing with the process. do I need this service running if the client are setup to use both the Exchange server and the default mail is the internet mail server? Is their a configuration for the internet mail service that I can set so that it is awar of the sendmail server. Is their a time setting that it uses before passing this email out on to the sendmail server? Any good sites that explain the configurations of the internet mail service?
