I think this is the correct place for this query but i'm not sure! I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem. I can connect to the internet through the ISDN cable as per normal but, strangly there is nothing that I can do online. No web pages load, e-mails can't be sent or received. I have tried uninstalling any recently downloaded software and performed system scans, I was wonder if I should re-install the ISDN software. It is more strange because I can connect from another computer dialing the same number and using the same modem and there is no problem. Can anyone help? Thanx

when you are connected can you ping out to the internet from a DOS prompt? PING are a public ip address? Also depending on your operating system type ipconfig or winipcfg to see if you are getting an outside ip. You may need to reinstall TCP/IP.

I re-installed the BT digital access USB drivers. But it still won't work. I also pinged but i was told that it was an unknown host. How do I reinstall the TCP/IP? Please help!

This sounds like you have not recieved the DNS server. How are you sure that you actually are connecting to the internet. try pinging a direct ip address. i.e. 216.109.125.64 (which is the ip address that can translate too from the DNS server)

Go to the command prompt and type "ipconfig/all" then check to see that you have an IP address listed next to DNS servers, if not then make sure to call and get one from your ISP, or make sure your computer is set for DHCP if your ISP uses DHCP.

To reinstall TCP/IP
Depending on your version of windows, go to Network Neighborhood, rightclick ->properties then,

Win2000 :
double click local area connection, click properties, look for TCP/IP in the list under General Tab, if there select it then choose uninstall, then click install-> protocol-> Add(button) and find TCP/IP.

Win98 :
look for TCP/IP in the list under General Tab, if there select it then choose uninstall, then click install-> protocol-> Add(button) and find TCP/IP.

This should uninstall, and then reinstall TCP/IP. Let us know if it works after doing this. Good Luck.
