Internet connection Wizard 1

I am trying to set up a dialup connection in Win XP home and I am unable to complete the process because the internet connection only gives me the option for the DSL connection and the option for the modem is grayed out , I have tried everything I know but cant get XP to do what I want , The device manager says the Modem is installed ans working and it is listed in the control panal under Modems , I have set the connection speed at 9600 and still have the problem , It is an internal modem under com 1[Have changed ports also] This is A Dell Dimension 8200, Please help me , Thanks
