Working on an intl calling issue on a Legend R6.1. Customer went from a plain T-1 from AT&T to a PRI provided from Nuvox via a VoxIP circuit.

Everything works fine except certain intl calls. They can dial 14 digit numbers using the 011 prefix no problem, but when they try to call a customer in Germany using 17 numbers the user gets a waveoff tone from the Legend. The provider is telling me they are not seeing all of the digits when they try to dial the 17 digits.

They are using pool 70 for the PRI, making local, LD and Intl calls on it. There are no copper trunks in the switch.

Below is the PRI and ARS printout of this switch. I believe I have everything set up correctly, but could be wrong. I've searched the forums and checked a few things that I found, but nothing seems incorrect.

This is the # to Germany they can't call.

011-49-8232-5002-9248

After some further questions today, I was told this is a fax # they are trying to reach.

They also said they had an issue calling Ranosa, Mexico but of course neglected to give me the # as of my request.

First off, I can only assume that "MOST" other International Calls go through OK.

Then, considering that 011 is set to DELETE ZERO Digits, that is, it will pass along what ever is dialed, AND it is set to be an International type of call, then I would be inclined to believe the problem is with a carrier along the way.

Either yours, theirs, something in between, or perhaps something as simple as a wrong number.

I suggest you look some other place than the Legend.

Good Luck,

The number seems awfully long too
if the area code in Germany is long then the number can be short and seeing that this number is deep in Bavaria I doubt that they have actually 8 digit phone numbers. Some big cities don't have 8 digit numbers.
I would say try to call the number from a different phone you know is working and see what happens.

If you can't be good, be good at it!

Change special services pattern zero type of number to national & see if that makes a difference sometimes providers don't like the IN tag...

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Yes, other intl. calls go through no problem. I've called that number from my office just to see if its a good number, and I got a fax screaming in my ear so I know its good.

I haven't had a chance to talk to a Nuvox tech myself, but when the customer spoke with them he was told it was an Inter-Digit Timer issue w/ the Legend. I've never had to adjust these before.

And I may try changing the special service pattern zero to "national" just for grins.

Ok, I've changed the special service pattern type to "national" and had the customer make a test call. Now he hears a greeting in German that he assumes says the call cannot be completed, or something to that effect since neither one of us know German, lol.

I spoke to Nuvox after these changes and they are telling me that the duplicate 011 being inserted has been resolved as they only see a single 011 entry on the number now.

Now it seems that for whatever reason, the last 2 digits of the phone # are being lost/stripped off, hence the # is incomplete when it hits Germany. The number should read 011 49 8232 5002 9248, but Nuvox says the 48 is missing.

Try changing it back to international, then deleting 3 digits (the 011 will be deleted, but the call will still be flagged as international).
