hi there

i just got a new PC case that now has front usb interfaces. however i dont seem to get those to work. i really dont even know how to plug it in the mainboard. there i find something like this:
| x x x x x || x x x x x |
|x x x x x x || x x x x x |
USB2 USB1
now i have 4 plugs to put in there: 2 3-pin plugs saying USB+/USB-/VCC and 2 1-pin ones that say GND (ground?)
now when i put them in in 'any way' the pc really wont even _start_ to boot. the current way is that i put the gnd next to the 3-pinner, in USB1 and 2 BUT now only one of the prots respond at all (in winXP Pro), and that one doesnt work as well really. when i put whatever in it just says it found 'something' but couldnt configure it. what am i doing wrong?

Oh dear! usb ports must be wired correctly first time otherwise you can easily burn them out (quick puff of smoke and a burning smell) and they never work again.
Typically there are two rows of pins, one row has a spare pin, starting from the opposite left side both rows start with:
VCC1 Data1- Data1+ Ground1
VCC2 Data2- Data2+ Ground2
But unfortunately not ALL motherboard are wired up the same, this is the common configuration, refer to you motherboards manual for specific data applying to your particular motherboard.
Also it maybe worth checking in the bios setup as sometimes not all USB ports are enabled.

Thank you!! after i plugged it in accordingly to the pins and what they are good for, it works well :D
(lol in some other forum they told me that the front panel wasnt compatible to the MB because it wasnt a 2x5 plug LOOOL good people here know better!)
