We recently upgraded to Exchange 2003 from Exchange 5.5 and everything went smoothly (thanks to some good planning). I am left with only one issue. When using Exchange 5.5 we were able to limit users e-mail access to only emailing other users on our Exchange 5.5 server and not the outside world, by just delete the SMTP address. Anyone know how to do this in 2003, since you can delete all the smtp addresses??

I dont think this is possible simply because windows 2000/2003 is DNS based. I mean you could not give the users a default gateway but that would mean they would not have internet access. You could install a personal firewall on each PC and block outbound access to port 25. Other then that I don't know.

Do you need any users to be able to e-mail the outside world? If not then don't setup the internet mail connector in 2003!

Yes most of our users send e-mail to the internet. I figured out how to do it...you can set the access by using the restrictions tab on the internet SMTP connector that you create. Thanks for the responses!!
