Internal Call Forwarding trouble

I have a user- ext 8301 who is out of the office and wants to call forward all calls to her backup- ext 8268. Her backup sits directly next to her.
- Outside callers route/fwrd fine to the backup.
- From my site we are able to 4 digit dial them via pt to pt T1. When we dial them from here, 8301 DOES forward to 8268.
- However when users on-site call ext 8301 (4 digit) the phone doesn't forward. Phone w/ ext 8301 rings 3 times, then FDN/HUNTS to voicemail.
Please help!

Do you have CLS = CFTA (call forward by call type allowed)on x8301? If so, you should see FDN, HUNT, EFD, and EHT prompts. FDN and HUNT control what happens on an internal call. EFD and EHT control what happens on an external call.
