Hi,
I have a small network with a 2003 server, running DHCP and DNS. The clients are set up for For no apparent reason XP pro clients will "drop off" the network. IE. User opens Entire Network, Microsoft Windows Network and would usually see 2 domains and then of course the computers in same.
When the problem occurs no other machines seem to be present in network places.
BUT, I can access shares by using pre-configured network drives or by typing \\computername\sharename from the run dialog.
Miraculously, without rebooting or anything else really, sometimes the machines will all be there in my network places.
I have checked event logs on both the server and the client and can see no DNS errors (or any other errors for that matter)
Here is an IPCONFIG /ALL from one of the XP Pro clients
