Hi all,
I'm seeing the following on a seemingly random basis:

Unable to attach to \\Mailserver\Microsoft Exchange Directory.
The device cannot be found.
^^^^^^^^

And the same with mailboxes.
Config: MSX5.5 SP4 on NT4 SP6a. 2 Servers
Backup Exec 8.6.3878 on Win2K SP3 with 2X DLT Autoloaders

Other backups work fine and the Mail jobs work when they feel like it which is about 30% of the time. They are scheduled for a daily full of each mail server with the single mailbox backups as seperate jobs. I've got a good service account and don't belive it's a permissions issue etc.

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks,

Toby.

Can the BE server ping \\Mailserver by name reliably?
Will BE attach to \\Mailserver\any_other_dir reliably?

If you're having name resolution problems, you could PREload that server's address in the W2K lmhosts.sam file.

I beleive you need to have an account on your Exchange Server that is exactly the same name as the account you use to run your backups.

I'm attaching a link to a real useful piece of info from the Veritas site
Hope it helps :-)
