Hi There,

My customer has reported that they are virtually unable to transfer any files etc. accross their leased line between 2 offices, I have come out to have a look and I have some communication across the link (90% of standard pings's and some other stuff) but it clearly is not working properly, packets are being dropped, I'm unable to use remote desktop to control servers across the link etc.

I've checked through all the configs etc, all seem fine (bearing in mind that these routers has been working for about 3 years). Pasted below are the results from the show interface s0 on the 805 router at one side of the link you can see it has a lot of input errors. there are no errors logged on the interface at the other end. I have logged a fault with the line provider but while they are testing it etc, i'm trying to work out if it is anything that i can resolve. Please help.

Also note that the system up time when i got these results was around 10 minutes

You have a 256K leased line with Encap HDLC....
Would be helpful to see the output from show interface on the other side.
But from what I can see it is either a cabling problem or most likely a problem with your service provider.

I have just got back from work, while i was out on my first call i got a call from this customer saying that the service provider had identifyed and rectified a fault in the telecoms exchange at the end of the line that this router was sitting on, I went to the office, cleared the counters and 10 minutes later still no errors. :)
