Interesting read - Delphi on Rails

Interesting comments on component use.
My opinion is that the VCL gives us the ability to get what we envisage up and running without having to be 'Smart Alexs' about our programming skills. (or put it another way why reinvent the wheel every time)
Sadly Codegear don't seem to be encouraging new users (future talent), with their decision to completely hobble the Free edition of D2007, by making it impossible to add third party components.
