I have a PIII 800 system that STARTS on its own. I will shut it completely down and 20-25 minutes later it will turn on by itself. All wake on LAN functions in the BIOS is off. Any Ideas. I have not replaced anything yet. I may start with the Mainboard. James Collins

Is Wake on Ring enabled, or Wake on mouse/keyboard? My BIOS is AMI and it offers those features. Maybe one of those may be enabled. I don't know if this will help much, but it is something to check. Good Luck!

Nope it is all disabled. This PC is not part of a LAN. It is stnd alone. James Collins

How about a thunk on the side to see if you've got something shorting?
How about pulling the power up leads loose overnite?
Fan bearings throwing bronze out on traces?
Any sort of resistance across the power up traces could lead to it.
