Interested in using VISUALSOURCESAFE, but I have no time to learn!

I am very curious, I wanted to learn how to use Visual SoutrceSafe(VSS), but never have. The big reason for why I haven't is because an instructor of mine who taught the class, Advanced Visual Basic(Version 6.0), said that using VSS was very convenient and valueable. That semester was a disaster and I never finished that class. I did end up with a BS in Com.Sci. After seeing the MsgBox "Do you want to save this in VisualSourceSafe?", appear every time I open anything, I got curious. I entered 'yes' to that question once it responded with another Login MsgBox that I did not have Account Numbers or passwords for. So I ditched that screen and I just went back to clicking 'No'. I would be very interested in learning How to use this and what benefits you have had from using it.

There's plenty of info in msdn about VSS - overview, getting started etc.That bit about the second MsgBox,you first have to go into Visual Sourcesafe 6.0 Admin. and add yourself to the list(password is optional)or use "guest"

hi dan,
you will reap the most benefit if you are working with other developer,

with Vss you could build a form (or object or whatever) while your co developer work on other part of the project, and at the end of the day, you could combine them and see the result
