Intercomm Button on an ACU (Audio Conferencing Unit)

Hi,

I have an ACU(Norstar Audio Conferencing Unit). Is there a way to program it to pick up an outside line using the off hook button? The only way I get it to work is to program it with using 9 for an outside line. When I hit the off hook, I get an intercomm line and when I press 9 I get my line pool. I would like to do the reverse. (i.e. I would like to get the line pool with the off hook and an intercomm when I press 9).

Sure you could make it pick up an outside line automatically when you go off hook but what are they gonna do if they also need the ACU for internal communications?

You can't call ANY other extention within the system if you can't access an intercom channel and once you're already on an outside line there's no way to dial a code to disconnect that line and then draw icm dial tone.

Just dial 9 to get out like the rest of the world and then enjoy the greatest feature about that unit, which is of course, the full duplex talk path.

Yeah I'm with Phonehed on this one. I don't think you can make it go straight to an outside line anyways.

External hotline to 9 would probably work but I wouldn't do it.
