We're using wifi-sets (Avaya 3641), that sometimes have problems with opening an audio channel.
Signalling works fine, though.

After some fiddling around with parameters I found that setting the inter/intra region IP/IP direct audio to No in the ip-network-region form seems to solve the problem, but I'm not sure at to how it affects the system.

Can anyone tell me what exactly I'm doing with this parameter ?
It looks like it has something to do with a Medpro.....

It causes the voip audio stream to NOT "shuffle" eg it causes the handset to send audio to the medpro, then the medpro to send audio to the other handset. Normally once the call is nailed up the sets will send audio directly to each other if they are both IP phones.

OK JayNEC, thanks.

So it causes load on the Medpro - how do I check the load on the Medpro, then ?

It looks like the WIFI-handsets are connecting on other ports than the range spciefied in their IP-NETWORK-REGION.
I don't know where this comes from, but like I said, changing the the settings in that region does solve the problem. I just hope I don't introduce a new problem 'overloading' the Medpro....

list measurements ip dsp-resource

also status media-processor will give you a point-in time use of DSP's.

A 2302 can handle 64 simultaneous calls at G711 or 32 at G720. A 2602 can handle 320 simultaneous calls.

Most 3600 series phones are rebranded Spectralinks that operate a custom firmware that does vanilla flavored Avaya H323, but not necessarily every option is administered the same way. You need wireless QoS to operate them, and you're either using WMM that would be enabled on your wireless infrastructure, or the "AVP2245" - a Spectralink box the 3600's proxy through on the LAN to add QoS. If you're using that AVP box, it might have some settings to administer with regards to the RTP ports.

Just checked;
I don't have more than 7 calls at any given time active on our medpro's.
We have about 50 wifi sets active on our 3000+ extensions system....
I'm guessing it'll be save to route the calls through the medpro's, at least for the time being.

Thanks a lot for the tips guys.....
