Hi all, I needs some advices on the Intelligent Message Filter. I have an Only and One Exchange 2003 in my company and I had also installed the IMF. I had configured the IMF and enable it in the Default SMTP Virtual Server. But users complaining that they can't recieve any emails from outside.

Therefore, I removed the ticks of the IMF in the Default SMTP Virtual Server and they finally recieved emails.

And other things is that, by right I will see the IMF under the Protocol --> SMTP, but i don't see it. All I can see is under Global Settings --> Message Delivery-->Right Click -->Properities. I had configured the Sender Filtering and Connection Filtering.

I have no idea where I went wrong or maybe the IMF shouldn't install on my Exchange Server....please advice me.

Thanks and Regards

What SCL ratings did you choose for the filtering? What other permissions did you change?

I would uncheck sender filtering and connection filtering. I would set SCL ratings at 6 to start with.

Verify that mail is getting put into the UCEArchive folder. You can manage the trapped content using my web management pages for IMF.

Also make sure that you did not remove anonymous access to the SMTP virtual Server. All Internet mail is sent anonymous so if you block it no mail can come in.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
