Howdy Folks,

We are looking to integrate our remote offices into a single W2K domain space.

Do I have to alter thier domains to be the same as the main forest, or can I keep them as is and have them able to access all resources as per a native domain user?

Cheers,

Pete

You are using a master / resource domain model at present?

You need to collapse the current domains into the existing one.

Microsoft have a complicated way of turning a resource domain PDC into a DC of your new W2K domain.

We cheated by using a tool called Upromote. This takes a PDC, turns it into a stand-alone member server which you then join to your new W2K domain, upgrade to W2K and then upgrade to a DC. Keeps all security etc. You do have to worry about resource domain groups and security etc. Can be a lot of work in re-ACLing everything.
