insufficient privleges to save regedt32 key

I am logging into my single domain in a Win 2K AD as domain administrator and trying to save the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Key before I make a change to it. I choose Registry-->Save Key and I receive an error
"Insuffcient privleges to save key". I highlighed the key and chose Security-->Permissions and verified that I have full control.

When I highlight a child key under HKey_Local_Machine and choose save I can sucessfully save it.

How can I save the entire hive? Any ideas???

Have you just tried saving the entire registry? Might not be exactly what you want, but it would work, no? Darrell Mozingo
