I am new to VFP 7 and installShield and foolishly answered "Yes" to disable the "Change", "Remove" and "Repair" buttons in the general information section of step 1.

Now I can't test my setup without removing the prior installation, which I can't remove because there is no such option in the "Add/Remove" feature of the Control Panel.

I am using Windows XP Home Edition.

Thanks for any help.

Hi

1. If you want to uninstall the Installer, go to control panel, add remove prgramme of the OS, first uninstall, then do a reinstallation with whatever options you want.

2. You can also attempt a second time installation and change the installation options. This must be possible or otherwise the very purpose of an installation creator is not doing a wanted function!

I haven't tested this (I have '98 at home), but I believe Installshield is looking in the registry to determine if you application is already installed. Go to Regedit and look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and find your application and delete the entry. Mike Gagnon

InstallShield will not permit that, that add and remove on XP only lists the programs that will installed with the add and remove option turned on.

I havent seen in XP.. But Win200 has that, since InstalShield is a separate product, it has kept that information and I can uninstall as I observe in this W2k computer.
