Two days ago I tryed to install w2k on a computer with a copy my father in law sent me. The ID that he had with it doesn't work.

Today I started the computer back up with the bootup disk and CD. All I get is a blank screen and a series of what sounds like short beeps ( 1,3,3,1).

Can anyone help? Right now all I want to is get whats on the drive off so I can put something else on.

thanks

Dude, making copies and distributing of copy righted software is a violation of copyright laws. Sending it via USPS accross state lines makes it a federal crime. Buy your own copy. You can't go wrong that way.

For every problem there is a solution, for every solution there is a tech behind it.

Hardware issues cause beeps during bootup...depending on your BIOS, it could be your video or your RAM.
