Installing W2k pro over WXP pro

I need to install Windows 2k Pro on my computer. The "corporate" office demands it. Does anyone know if I can install W2kpro over XPpro or do I have to reformat and intall. I'd rather not have to reinstall the plethera of programs I currently have installed.

I don't think you can downgrade your laptop to windows 2000.

Was this a fresh install of windows xp (format, install) or an upgrade of windows 2000. If it's an upgrade, you may have some success with uninstalling xp.

Overall, formatting and reinstalling would be far less headache for you...

XP was the original OS on the laptop.

Reformatting and installing fresh was what I was resigned to do anyway. I was just hoping I would get a "no problem" response.
