Hi,

I have VOIP monitoring manager CD with me. The Installer leave it to me when they installed my s8300/g700 server. They didnt install it. I search if what this cd all about. I decided to install it to really see the real view. I know it will monitor jitter, RTT, and packet loss for the endpoints. Can I install it in any computer in my LAN? What do i need? Please help me out here. Thanks a lot.

It can run on pretty much anything, HOWEVER, it also pretty much "takes over" that computer, it installs IIS, Apache, an MS Database, you must enable SNMP, etc.

Hints: load the SNMP service, and set the default community string to "public", BEFORE you load it.

Also, you need do a "change ip options" in CM, and set the VMM Monitoring IP to the fixed IP of the server you install the VOIP Monitor on, so CM can send the updates to it.

I would use a dedicated machine for this. If you have alot of IP endpoints then W2K3 should be used.

I have version 5.0.5. Does this require a license after the 90 days or is the document incorrect. I was under the impression from our B.P. that it now is a free add on from Avaya.

Also, can it run on a virtual machine?

Thanks,

Jim

It is included with new versions of CM, but, it still must be licensed with RFA. Tell your Business Partner they should be able to get an RFA Transaction #, under "Integrated Management" and you will need to go into the WebLM web page, to get the MAC address of the PC it is installed in, to complete the license.

Yes, I just installed it on a Virtual Windows 2003 Server machine for a client of ours. It liceenses to the MAC address that the machine "see's"

I have a related question, since I haven't installed this before, but I think it would be very useful with some talkpath issues I seem to be having.

The software for VOIP MM is on the same CD I received with the Site Administration Tool, when you go to install, this asks for an IP, what IP address am I plugging in there?

Site admin we point at 10.150.29.32 for instance, would I point it there?

Thanks in advance, sorry for the thread-hijack :)

Hmm, apparently I have the client on the SAT disk, but not the server. I wonder if we have it on disk floating around somewhere, this would be extremely helpful to have right now, since we're being denied QOS on our telephone services until an IP migration happens that was cut due to budget.

Was this a program that had to be purchased/licensed or was it included? Since I wasn't here for the last roung of upgrades and purchasing, I have no idea now if its something we have on tap...bother, ohwell, thanks anyhow

It should have been included. I cam e to my company a year after they upgraded to 4.0. The CD was no where to be found.

I had to bug my BP but eventually got them to send another CD and license.
