All changes have to be entered via the prompt command which was OK for my network manager, but he has moved out of state to another job and my comfort level and knowledge for the firewall is not great. I have been told that PDM is a better way to control the firewall. I have checked DES & 3DES activation keys and they are active and the firewall is version 6.1. My question is: If I load PDM, will I have to reload the configuration? Will I be able to access the firewall via my desktop using my internal IP address and is it possible to create a script for reloading the configuration.

PDM is already loaded into your PIX. You don't have to reload it. All you need to know is the IP of your PIX (default:192.168.1.1), and the password(default: no password, blank). Open your Internet Explorer, and type, That is it. Remember, http"s". You also need to have Java enable for your brower.

You will not have to reload the configuration.
Yes, you will be able to access the firewall via your desktop through Internet Explorer
