I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum to post this question but here it is:
I'm trying to install Oracle 8i on a Pent 4 machine and the setup is not running at all. Searching the Internet, I found a post suggesting search and renaming the SYMCJIT.DLL will allow the setup to run. I followed the instruction and was able to run the setup. During the installation process, I encountered a few error messages but by pass them. When I reboot the machine, I got the following messages:
-the logon user interface DLL msgina.dll failed to load. Contact your system administrator to replace the DLL or restore the original DLL
-the application or DLL c:\WINNT\System32\SHLWAPI.DLL is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
At this point my option is to reboot the machine and get the same error messages again or just turn off the computer. The OS on the machine is Win2K professional. Your help to resolve this issue is greatly appreciated.
TIA

Oracle 8 doesn't run properly on Pentium 4's. Go to Oracle's website and download 9i
