I am trying to install Office 2000 onto a Windows 2000 Terminal server. I receive the following error message:

"Some default settings in Microsoft Office 2000 setup do not work properly on a Windows Terminal Server. To install Office on Terminal Server, you must use the instructions and tools available in your Office 2000 Resource Kit or at
I tried using the instructions from that Microsoft page.
.....setup.exe transforms=termsrvr.mst

I still receive that message.

Tried typing in the full path to the termsrvr.mst with the "" marks. Tried relocating the file, tried copy the install files to the local drive.

I have literally done what's recommended by Microsoft but still no joy yet I have done this before on 2 servers successfully.

I'll appreciate all the help I can get.

Andy.

Did you do this at the command line, or did you try it using Add/Remove programs?

I tried on both.

Switch the Terminal Server to install mode. Do the following:

Click Start and then click Run.

In the Open box type cmd and then click OK.

At the command prompt type Change User /Install and then press Enter. The following message appears:
User session is ready to install applications.

Type Exit and then press Enter.

Add or remove the programs that you want.
After installing the application switch back to the execute mode using cmd "change user /execute."

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark
