I've read 3 articles on installing NT 4.0 on a 7.8GB partition, 2 of them from microsoft. None of them worked. If anyone would explain, step by step, on how to install NT 4.0 on 7.8gb partition, I would appreciate it. I do not have Partition Magic.

With great difficulty.

If you choose to install NT and create & format the partition(s), then anything over 4096 is a problem. The reason - FAT system has a limitation of 4096MB. The solution (my easiest way) is to put the drive into another PC/Server that has already got NT installed and partition/format there. You can format NTFS with no problems.

Once this is done, out the drive back into the new machine, start the install and when you get to the step about drives, tell it "leave filesystems intact" (or something like that).

All should work from there. Cheers,
Sam
