Just a couple of things I ran across installning .NET (i run .NET on a computer with Win2K advanced server):

1. The install is very sensitive - when they say close all other applications - do so!

2. The progress meters are not very good, my installation went on for what seemed like ages without showing any signs of life.

3. My internet connection failed (something went wrong with the DHCP service) after the installation. Reinstalling IE 5.5 fortunately solved this problem.

I'm not surprised. I expect that .NET updates some system components (i.e. is an operating system upgrade like Internet Explorer was).

Oh, not that your connection got dropped, but rather an inability to connect at all due to DHCP getting munged up? Well, I guess you found out what part of the OS got an upgrade!

But, I'm glad you were able to get it installed. I keep hoping to post some code here, but work is keeping me so busy that when I get home I don't even want to play Quake.

Well I just got VS.NET in my machine yesterday, took me an hr just to get the upgrades the program thought it needed b4 I could put in a .NET cd.

Took about 2 hrs to install the .NET part and it all went in real easy, I was suprized.

Now I just need to figure out what I am doing with it.
