1) how do i isolate just the OS portion on a bundled sw CD? I need to get NT 4.0 installed.
background: i'm installing MS Back Office Small Business Server (bundled sw suite that comes with NT 4.0 Server, MS Exchange 5.5, and a handful of other MS apps) on a Dell Poweredge server purchased WITHOUT an OS. Well, the system disk keeps ejecting both the BackOffice CDs. And the Setup Boot Disks for NT 4.0 just sits (hangs?) on the blue screen.

2) can i install the latest SP(6) on top of the OS?

thanks...

When I installed SBS I didn't have problems with it hanging but did have problems with my PowerEdge and SBS finding the SCSI hard drive. I downloaded the drivers from Dell and when asked by the blue screen setup if any other drivers were needed, inserted the disk. Worked after that. ----------------------------------------
