Wondering if anyone can give me some advise?
I am trying to install Exec 9.1 on our new Windows 2003 server.
We currently have it running on an NT box but need to switch that of has it is getting a bit flakey.
The new machine is running our exchange 2003 and has windows terminal services. i have put the terminal services into install mode but not stopped the exchange services. Is this something I need to do?

I run the setup and import the existing licences from the current machine and everything goes fine until it gets to the part of installing Exec for SQL. At this point the install terminates and produces a log.

i have looked at the log the last few enteries include a referance to JDE being installed already but the rest is gibberish to me.

Can anyone give me any pointers

Thanks

has any resolution to this been found? im experiencing the same problem as the original post

yes with the help of others in i looked at the log files and it was telling me that the it could not find the PDC.
I moved the PDC to the new machine and it worked fine.

do you have any documentation on that? like what to look for in the logs etc. i really dont want to have to wipe that server...

Hi kevinNNI

take a look at this thread "thread481-779586"
hope this helps

doesnt look like it applies unfortunately.

i'm getting

Executing "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\cnfgsvr.exe -V 1 -M 1 -U sa -I "BKUPEXEC" -Q "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS""
Setup failed to configure the server. Refer to the server error logs and setup error logs for more information.
MSI (s) (20!64): Product: Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine -- Setup failed to configure the server. Refer to the server error logs and setup error logs for more information.

Action ended 13:29:16: InstallFinalize. Return value 3.

i'm just going to wipe it. its pre-production so its only a day or so setback. thanks for your help though :)
