installing exchange 2000 on win NT

I would like to know if I can install exchange 2000 on windows NT4 server.

We have a Win 2000 (SP3) Domain Controller with Active Directory
And An Win NT 4 (SP6) with Exchange 5.5 currently set up.
Would it be easier to just build a new machine for exchange 2000?

I am trying to find the least expensive route for this company to upgrade.

E2K has to be on a W2K server. Just upgrade your NT4 server.
