I have an IBM thinkpad and the hard drive has been erased. The internal CD Rom does not work and I am trying to reinstall windows 98. I can't install the drivers for the backpack CD Rom I purchased in order to follow with the installation of Windows 98. Any suggestions?

If you have a floppy drive in your machine, use a win98 boot disc which will load required drivers

Most recovery CD's are bootable. Enter your BIOS setup, and set the first boot device to be the CD ROM.

Alternatrivly, get a bootable flopy with CD drivers on it. Look at this URL:

The Microsolutions site also has drivers that can be added to a Win98 Boot disk that will allow you access to the external cd.
