Installed SP4, roaming profile won't load anymore

One of the workstations on our network (all w2k) still had SP2. Yesterday I updated it to SP4, plus security updates, plus IE6. Somewhere along the way, I noticed that on restart it wasn't loading the user's roaming profile (with the error message and 30 sec. delay). I checked that the roaming profile had been working before the updates, and it had. Since this problem means that her new work doesn't get backed up on the server when she logs off, I'd like to fix it as soon as possible. Are there settings I need to change? Things I should test? What is the best way to fix this? Thanks,

Might not help but when SP4 went on did it reset the local setting for her profile? ie: the tab in system "User Profiles", did it get reset to local?

When I first looked it said local, so I set it to roaming. It stayed at roaming after restarts, but continued to get the error message on every restart.
