Hello, I installed service pack 2 and now I can't log on as it says something about not having enough space to make a temporary profile and even if I try and log on as administrator it comes up with some obscure error.

I have taken the hard drive out and have it as a secondary hard drive on another system now. Is there anyway I can remove SP2 on this disk now so I can get back in to it?

Cheers

James

I'd suggest backing up and deleting some (data) files to get some room on the drive.

Making sure you are in the Windows from which you wish to remove the SP2, try these.

875350 - How to remove Windows XP Service Pack 2 from your computer

875355 - How to use the Automatic Recovery feature to recover your computer if the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Setup program is not completed successfully

For other SP2 help try this site.

Is there anyway that you could possibly log on as another account, such as in safe mode, and create another user account? I had a problem like this before, where the account "went bad" (for lack of better words). I then created another account in safe mode and was able to log in normally from that point on.
