i've installed PWS (personal web server) on a windows 98 machine. i did get an error on install regarding MTS. But then i read somewhere in a Wrox Book that MTS is not required for PWS, only for IIS. Anyhow, the install is complete and the server is running. How do I use the server on my machine. I tried accessing the server by typing in the IP address in the browser, but it didn't work. I also tried placing a simple ASP page in the C:\Inetpub\ directory and trying to access that through the browser, but that didn't work.

Another problem that i'm having is after right clicking on the PWS icon in the systray and selecting properties, the Personal Web Manager window comes up. When i click on the Publish or Web Site images on the left, I get a Bad URL in the main screen of this window.

Are there any steps that i am missing? I'd appreciate any help.

It sounds like your PWS is sick.

You should be able to open your web browser and type LOCALHOST into the address line. You should get a welcome page.

Maybe try reinstalling PWS. New Zealand, a great place to visit.
