I have a HP server and i would like to install 4000 linux clients from the HP server. Is there a way i could automate this by creating a package or using tools that are existing in the market to do this ?

Yes. Create a directory on the HP/UX, copy a RedHat CD to it and export it. (I write RedHat because that the only distro I'm sure of can do a fully automated network install)

You then need to read up on your RedHat (or other) manuals on how to create a floppy with a fully automated install script. Voila, I make it sound so easy, right ;-)

If you wan't to do it without putting a floppy in each machine, you need to get the clients to boot over the network (if they can) and use loadlin and a DOS images to install the Linux image.

Truth is I've never done it my self (fully automatic, that is).
It's very, very easy to do a network install with a floppy, but you need to answer a few questions yourself on each client. Too bad.
