Install Netware 3.12 on a ML370 G3

Does anyone know if you can install Netware 3.12 on a ML370 G3? I know that Compaq (HP) says it only supports Netware 5.1 and 6, so I'm sure only the HAM and CDM modules exist. Is there an NLM that will work with the SCSI disks?

*gg* why you do so funny things?? I don't belive that there are Netware 3.12 drivers for this server!

What is *gg*? At any rate, there aren't any drivers shipped with this server. And none can be downloaded on HP's site, only 5.1 or 6.0 drivers. I was hoping someone had tried to use a driver from another (older) Compaq server and was successful in getting things to work with Netware 3.12. Like maybe the old cpqdsk.dsk or cpqs710.dsk or cpqsdisk.dsk from an older ProLiant.

Hey, I'll bet you lunch that it is very possible to do what you are trying.

It is a chore, especially when installing new. And you have to pretty much do the whole thing manually and apply lots of patches.

But.. You can actually make your 3.12 server load HAM and CDM's.. So if there is a HAM driver out there, it should work on your server.

I've done it a couple times, not on a specific Compaq, but on a fairly new DELL system and also on a Compaq (other model system)..

Sure. I'd love more details on this. We've been running a NW 3.12 server for years with NO problems at all. We do just fine without a directory service, too. We do have a small network (50 users) and most of what we do is file and print. Although I have configured IP on the thing. It works, like the Energizer Bunny............

Go to my website, find my email, and shoot me a message. It's more complex than what I want to go into here. Some of the stuff you have to do are a little unorthodox and could stir up some emotions. Plus I'll probably forget all about it otherwise. Make sure you say in the email that you are referring to the hams' on 3.12.
