"How is it possible dreamweaver to create invalid html liek this?"
= How is it possible that humans can make mistakes if they use their brains all the time...even in a sleep?
well...I do make mistakes all the time but in order for someone to help me I must show them what I did.....so u might want to post your code !
All the best!
if ur using Dreamweaver to validate consider this:
1]
this is not 100% true validation and depends on your version of DW installed
2]
who said that u did it right the first time u desinged it
3]
if there are errors they seem to be very intuitive to fix....so what is the problem?
here is the image of your code validated:
so.....
=============================
eg.
line 14 - "80" is not a valid value for the "heigh" attribute in this verions.....
=============================
well...use your sense (I don't use flash)
if u have specified an older version of Flash then upgrage or change your code so it fits the version u like.
Also, check to see how is your validation set up...for what browser..waht flash version...etc.
This is a kind of a "tool" that comes built in but it is far from being bullet-proof...and if not "maintained" it becomes as useful as the rusted knife is to a surgeon.
I would think that 80 is a decent and not a huge value that conflict with anything..
If u think this validation message is wrong then go on with your life
I personally do not use this feature since it returns errors on even a blank document and I have not patiance to maintain it...I would rather take my time and work in a split code-design view and just watch the code being generated !
Anyhow, I don't think u have any errors to worry about ...W H of a table/cell is good thing to have even if the doesn't seemingly change the design/look!
All the best!
An interesting response, though I'm not sure why you are responding with scu determination when you don't use flash.
I can see the code problems. I know why it won't validate. I am using the most recent versions of DW and FLASH. Versions should not matter. When inserting flash, DW should check versions of flash being used and write code that works with it. What is the point in a wysiwyg editor if you have to rewrite the code it produces?
My questions was WHY it writes code that is not valid, then is able to tell that is not valid. Why not write it properly in the first place? I think it is a bug, probably because code writing and code validation are done by different departments within MM.
"What is the point in a wysiwyg editor if you have to rewrite the code it produces"
= I am a car mechanic...I have all the tools....how come "they" can't fix everything?!
"I think it is a bug, probably because code writing and code validation are done by different departments within MM."
- have u looked at the patch for the version of DW u have?
I am sorry man but this is "one" of those things....I don't do much Flash so I can't help much....but I know that u can set some options on the validation of the code ( browsert types...XML versions..etc.)
I have seen this happen to a compleatly good code eg. HTML wirtten out and the some Response.Write ("<td>" will throw off DW to "thinking" that HTML code was broken....
anyhow...see if those FLash People have had this experince and good luck on your quest!
