insert hyperlink, open in new window

Hi, I am inserting a hyperlink into an MS-Word document, which I then save as a web page and upload to our internal intranet. When the intranet user clicks the link, I want them to see the linked-to page in a new window. Instead the linked-to document replaces the current page in the browser. Can anybody tell me how to make "open in new window" the default action?

I can do this in Word 2003 by typing the address:

http://www.test.com

or whatever it is and then right clicking on that link and selecting "Edit Hyperlink", then there is a Target Frame button and it will let you select open in new window.

Yes, I get that option also when right-clicking it. But somehow somebody else (who no longer works here ) had managed to cause the "new window" to be the default behavior that intranet users see when simply clicking the link.
